Soft Karaoke...Sing Along With Your PC

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, February 16, 1999

No matter what kind of music you like, now you can sing along, with a little help from your PC. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bootcamp, a report on computers and technology. Want to have fun with your family or friends? Put your PC at the center of the gathering with a program called Soft Karaoke. It comes with a microphone and a hundred songs of all kinds on a CD ROM. It was created by Tune 1000, recently acquired by Vorton Technologies where Steve Adam says...

"One of the keys to having a product like this is having content that people can use to put into their library of songs. We have agreements with over 80 agreements with music publishers including Warner, EMI, Polygram, BMG, Sony Music so that we've actually gone out and licensed the rights to produce these songs in a computer format."

(sound) Besides the hundred songs on the CD, there are over fifteen hundred more online that you can purchase. Pick and choose them individually or by the group. You see the words on screen as the music plays...and the software lets you change the pitch and the tempo to suit your voice and style....

"Another really neat feature we put in here is the function keys ...while the song is going on ...serve as an audience...."

Thank you very much. You can find more info at tune1000.com.
