A PDA…with a hard drive built in. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. It's the latest device from PalmOne. The LifeDrive. Marketing director Rose Rodd says among the features are a….

"Four gigabyte hard drive. Built in Wi-Fi, built in Bluetooth. You now have a small, portable product that lets you really carry all your important digital information with you wherever you go."

The PalmOne LifeDrive has a 320 by 480 color screen. The company believes business users will be first in line for the 500 dollar PDA….

"There are so many professionals who really want to be able to carry much more information with them on the go. And they don't want to think about am I going to have enough memory on my handheld to do that. What we've given them is a smart file management with LifeDrive so they can identify folders on their computer that they might want to keep in sync at all times."

If you have a digital camera that uses SD memory cards, the handheld allows you back the cards up while your away from a PC. The built in Wi-Fi is a plus as well…

"Many businesses have Wi-Fi networks. More and more individuals have Wi-Fi networks in their home. So imagine being able to leave your laptop, not have to take it home with you because you actually check your email right here on the LifeDrive mobile manager."
