David Chase...on Upcoming Sopranos Game

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, September 21, 2006

While you're waiting for the final episodes of The Sopranos… here comes the video game. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. THQ will be out with The Sopranos, Road to Respect before the end of the year…while fans of the HBO series wait for final episodes. On the set of the Nuovo Vesuvio Ristorante from the show, creator David Chase told me about his involvement in the game…

"My involvement was basically at the level of story. We were discussing concepts and I remembered that a long time ago, I'd had an idea for a feature about a kid from like, Glen Ridge, New Jersey, wanting to be in the mafia and how would you go about getting in. And so we in some ways resurrected that and that is the story of the game. It's about a young man with very tenuous connections to the everyday life of the mob and wants to be part of the family and work his way up to a made guy status."

Chase says with the final shows in production now…not even the actors have yet been told how The Sopranos will end. And saying good-bye won't be easy…

"It's too soon to know what our real feelings are. I think everybody involved is going through various phases of kind of relief and sadness and then elation and then fear…it's quite a mixed bag."
