New iPod Add-ons From Griffin

Boot Camp feature for Monday, October 23, 2006

New iPod add-ons from Griffin. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Unlike lots of other companies that have jumped on the Apple bandwagon making accessories for iPod music players lately….Griffin Technology has been working with Apple for about fifteen years. Creative Director Derrick Stembridge says having so many competitors these days isn't necessarily a bad thing…

"It actually helps. You feed off of everything that's around you. All the new inventions that come out…it just feeds our inspiration."

Among Griffin's latest insprirations….the iKaraoke. It lets you plug a microphone into your iPod…..filter out the vocals so you can sing along…..and broadcast your performance to a nearby FM radio….or to a connected stereo system. Also new…the iTalk Pro….that adds what the company calls CD quality stereo recording capability to an iPod. And says Stembridge, there's the TuneCenter…

"Plug it up to your TV and you just dock your iPod in there. It's going to replicate the navigation from the iPod onto the TV screen. And that lets you watch your videos, have your navigation list of all your songs. And you have Ethernet and of course, power."

The connection to the Internet allows you to play Internet radio stations hrough the TuneCenter. A WiFi version is in the works. The price… about 130 dollars. Unlike some third party accessories… Griffin's design is up to snuff in being a worthy place for your iPod to rest comfortably. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
