New System Mechanic From Iolo

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, January 16, 2007

A new System Mechanic from Iolo Technologies. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. There are several software packages on the market designed to keep computers running with a minimum of problems. PC users often learn about frustrations first hand. Iolo's Faisal Habib says version 7 of System Mechanic adds some new capabilities...

With System Mechanic Professional, they'd get Spython, which is anti-spyware, the anti-virus, firewall, Search and Recover, Drive Scrubber and System Shield. So it's all of our products in one basically. All of the utilities you might need for your system to run perfectly."

While some utilities seem to assume users know which files are okay to delete and which aren't, the latest System Mechanic doesn't require you to know what you're doing under the hood...so to speak....

"I'll give you an example... my dad loves System Mechanic. He doesn't know much about the registry or the clutter you sort of put on the Internet, debris. What we have is like a one touch solution. We've got a one click solution which is PC Total Care. And it sort of cleans everything up for the not so savvy user."

The package sells for under seventy dollars and can be used on up to three PCs. Iolo faces increasing competition....from Symantec of course....and now from Microsoft as well. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
