Creating Personalized Books of Memories

Boot Camp feature for Monday, February 26, 2007

Creating personalized books of memories. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. There are numerous Web sites today that let you create some great looking photo books. A site called SharedBook.com…offers that…and more. It lets you add text…to tell stories along with just pictures and captions…and has templates online to simplify the process. And that content can be added from the Web as well. CEO Caroline Vanderlip….

"Giving you an example…a client of SharedBook, Legacy.com. Legacy is the partner with 300 daily newspapers in the country to host their obituary and death notice Web sites. That obit appears, but they also open a guest book for you. And that guestbook contains postings, comments and photographs that individuals leave for the family and friends of the deceased. Six hundred thousand a month, just to kind of put it in perspective. Until we partnered with Legacy.com, there was actually no way to take all of those comments and photos and keep them."

SharedBook automates the process of creating books …and lets you add to the content as well. Pricing starts at about 30 dollars. Books about vacations, can include, besides photos, digital copies of menus or itineraries. The kinds of things that used to go into old fashioned scrapbooks….brought into the digital age. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
