Digital cameras focused on teens. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. FujiFilm is refreshing its lineup of digital cameras for the fall and if the latest models are any indication…it will be a colorful season. The company is trying to create a whole new generation Y market….with the Z10fd. Marketing VP Ron Gazzola says first of all…are the camera colors…

"We have hot pink, sunset orange, wasabi green, midnight black and wave blue. So real exciting, real vibrant, again kind of fitting into the fashions that we have out there today. One of the things we've really done with this camera is look at the demographic and the audience and a lot of these young kids are very big into social networking, going to social networking sites. So when we designed this camera, we took a lot of that into account. So some of the feature sets, what we'd want to call kind of face it, beam it, blog it. Looking into some of the technology, so face detection, which allows these youngsters to capture the face when they're at parties and auto-focusing. Beam it, which allows them to beam pictures to one another with the camera. And then blog mode which allows them to take images that they take with the camera, reduce them in size, and then just send them out onto the Internet."

The 7 megapixel cameras have a 3 times optical zoom and a 2 and a half inch LCD screen. FujiFilm hopes to coax Generation Y to abandon the cameras in their cell phones…for the Z10fd. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
