Bluetooth Gets Better... Nextgen Venturi Mini

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, December 20, 2007

Bluetooth devices get better and better. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Bluetooth is that wireless technology built into many mobile phones that allows you to use wireless headsets. It's also used in lots of computers for wireless keyboards and mice. One of the coolest new uses of the technology we've seen is in a device called the Nextgen Venturi Mini. Plug into the power adaptor of a car….and it serves as a handsfree device for your mobile phone…connecting to your car's FM radio…and also plays music …from either a wired or wireless connection. Nextgen Venturi marketing manager Andor Miles Board…

"What we're after is to solve a problem that a lot of people have. Increasingly in 2008 we're expecting MP3 enabled mobile phones to outstrip standard MP3 players by a factor of at least 2 to 1. The problem with this…or the solution we're offering, is a way of getting the music from the mobile phone in a very easy and a very enhanced way."

Phones can be plugged into a USB connector on the Mini for charging as well. If your car radio displays what is called RDS information….the device transmits caller ID and other information to the display. The price… 129 dollars. There's plenty of competition from Parrot and others…but all of the technology built in to such a small device is hard to beat. You can find more information at myventuri.com.
