Singing Along With Your iPod

Boot Camp feature for Monday, March 3, 2008

Singing along with your iPod. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Apple's iPod phenomenon continues to spawn add-ons of all kinds. B2 has created the Mi-Jam line of toys to let kids play along with their digital tunes. The latest…says the company's Loren Taylor… includes wireless drumsticks…

"Called our Air Drummer, that actually comes with a foot pedal, a speaker. And you can play with or without your MP3 music. And it's about as realistic a drum experience as you can get for 49.99. We also have a new microphone which is called our Studio Mic, which has a great speaker inside. You plug in, you can sing along, it actually has cheering sounds inside. But most importantly what we've added into it is a vocal reduction addition that takes the vocal track, or reduces the vocal track from your MP3 music."

Beyond music…B2 is expanding its line….this year creating a new peripheral called PC Gizmo…

"The idea here is PC Gizmo is a cute little character who sits by your computer. He tells you when you have email, when you have IMs or you have Internet calls. He also is an animated character that appears on your computer screen and you can program him to do just about anything, from popping up and saying things to you to alerting you to different things. You can actually draw with him on the screen."

The price…will be under thirty dollars. Bloomberg Bootcamp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
