Aerosmith Guitar Hero on the Way...What's Comes Next?

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, March 19, 2008

The Aerosmith version of Guitar Hero is on the way. What's next? Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. They started Red Octane back in 1999….and sold the company to Activision in 2006 for a hundred million dollars. No wonder Kai and Charles Huang are smiling. Last year…sales of Guitar Hero reached a billion dollars. This year…there will be the Aerosmith version….followed by a whole new Guitar Hero IV for the holiday season. And Kai says…more band specific versions may be in the works…

"Well I hope so. We have some great relationships with artists and we think this is a fantastic way to take the Guitar Hero franchise where we can work with a band like Aerosmith." Since this announcement, who else have you heard from saying…hey, we're just as good as Aerosmith… "Well you know there are so many bands that we would love to work with. There's only so much time, right." But have you heard from others? "We definitely have heard from a lot of bands, you know. A lot of the top bands we want to work with, in no particular order, who've been great… Led Zeppelin, Metallica, of course Aerosmith we're working with, the Rolling Stones, Van Halen, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers. These are all bands that we would love to do something similar with."
