IAC Unveils RushmoreDrive

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, April 10, 2008

An Internet search engine….aimed at the Black community. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. It's the first online destination under the new Black Web Enterprises unit of IAC/InterActiveCorp. RushmoreDrive.com is designed to provide search results tailored to the Black community. Black Web Enterprises CEO Johnny Taylor…

"We are going to launch a new search tool that includes a search engine, a search engine that will give us everything that our users and everything that our audience, the Black audience, everything that they get currently from mainstream search engines like Google, plus an added layer and a blend of Black highly relevant information in the search context. We'll also have a news product that will give you everything that one expects and deserves from the mainstream news media, the CNNs, the Bloombergs, the Reuters of the world. But also specific features that are relevant to the Black Community. And then finally, we'll have a jobs network. More than just a jobs board but an opportunity for Blacks to manage their career and talk and meet and be introduced to employers who are looking for members of the Black community, but also other people who are currently employed in the workplace and who share the same set of experiences and affiliations."

With IAC behind it….Taylor says RushmoreDrive.com should see lots of traffic. The name, by the way, comes from the street sign outside Taylor's office window. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
