Corel's Print Office 2000

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, September 23, 1999

A do it all printing tool for the home or small office. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bootcamp, a report on computers and technology. Just about every new software package that comes along these days has 2000 in the title. No exception when it comes to Corel's Print Office 2000. What can you do with it? Just about everything when it comes to printing... .

"You can make newsletters, brochures, business cards, web pages, all kinds of printed documents for your business."

Corel's Erica Watt. The package includes Corel Photo House 5, a powerful but easy to use photo editing program, a library of 40 thousand business related graphics. There are some changes to Print Office in the new edition...

"We've replaced the personal information manager Colleagues and Contacts that was in the first version with Corel Central 9. And the reason we did that was because it has a better mail merge feature and also you can sync it with the Palm Pilot if you have one. We've also included another application called Web Designer and we included that because a lot of our users have access to the Internet and want to create web pages if they haven't already."

Web Designer makes it quick and easy.

"We also have a sheet, how to get started on the web, because that's often difficult. It's easy to create something but how do you actually get it posted on a web site... .that's the difficult part. We tried to do a few things this time around to make it easier for users."

The price for the suite... under seventy dollars, considerably less than the chief competition, Microsoft Publisher.
