A Handsfree Speakerphone That Goes Everywhere

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, July 8, 2008

A handsfree speakerphone that goes everywhere. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. More and more laws are requiring drivers to use handsfree devices....if they are going to use their mobile phones behind the wheel. An alternative to wearing a wired or wireless headset.....is a Bluetooth speakerphone that clips onto the visor of the car. BlueAnt, Parrot and Motorola are just a few of the companies that have solutions. A company called Spracht has created a speakerphone that goes from the car...into your home or office as well. The Aura Mobile BT. Sales and marketing VP Trace Williams...

"This particular unit really allows you to have very high quality, professional grade conference calls really anywhere that you choose."

What's missing is the ability to use voice dialing features with your phone. The device can also serve as a speakerphone for use with a PC for Skype calling....or with a standard cordless phone at home. The price ...about 99 dollars. The company is also releasing a model it calls the Aura SoHo....

"The very neat thing about it is if you flip the unit over here...this has accessory bays. When you buy this unit, instead of having to decide upfront...I'm going to use it with Bluetooth or I'm going to use it with analog or digital... these accessory bays slide out and if you do want to use it with Bluetooth at the time, you just pop in the Bluetooth module."

Spracht says sound quality and design help to set it apart from the competition. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
