Organizing the Internet Jumble

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Organizing the Internet jumble. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Lots of people have a variety of Web site they log onto every day…for everything from online banking to Facebook. Instead of hopping from site to site….and having to remember so many passwords….a site called PageOnce.com aims to simplify things. CEO Guy Goldstein…

"You can see all your personal information on one page. You can see your Netflix movie, you can see your next flight at United Airlines, you can read your email, you can reply to friends requests. You can track the package from Amazon. So all your personal information all on one place."

Pageonce says it employs military level security to safeguard your various logins. For those concerned about having all of that personal information….such as bank and credit card accounts….aggregated in one place… Goldstein says…it can actually help you safeguard your identity and information….because the information is always in front of you…

"So if any suspicious transactions happen or a big bill or anything…immediately the system and you notice this. And you can alert your bank or credit card or your Amazon, whatever, that things happened that you didn't plan to."

Pageonce calls itself a personal Internet assistant. The service is free….with the plan being to make money through targeted advertising…from the companies you've organized onto your Pageonce site. You can find more information at Pageonce.com. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
