Scared of E-Books? Not Stephen King

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Stephen King says reading ebooks shouldn't be so scary. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. Amazon is now selling an updated version of its Kindle ...the e-book reader I've been a fan of since it first arrived more than a year ago. And so is none other than best selling author Stephen King....who has written a novella exclusively for the Kindle. But there are plenty of people who seem almost repulsed by the idea of reading books from an electronic screen instead of paper pages. What does Stephen King have to say to them?....

"Well I say I think there's a resistance to any kind of a new delivery system, which is what this is. The same way there were people who just swore up and down that they'd never use a typewriter because it wouldn't be the same."

The one thing that is legitimately scary about the Kindle...is the 359 dollar price. You can find us on the Web at BootCamp.com. Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
