3D movies to watch at home. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology Boot Camp, a report on gadgets and gear. Check the movie listings lately? More and more films are being released in 3D. And that same technology is migrating into the home. Sonic Solutions...owner of the CinemaNow online streaming movie site...says it will be offering 3D downloads. VP Michael Demeyer says it will work, initially, with PC platforms designed primarily for 3D gaming...

"And depending on the type of display that the user has, some form of glasses are necessary. And those could be the type that you see in the theatres, what are called the passive Polarizing glasses, or what they call the active shutter glasses, which are actually a higher quality experience, which is the one that's really driving the games market right now."


Initially you will need PCs and screens designed for 3D game play. The plan is to bring those 3D movies into the family room through next generation connected flat screens and Blu-ray DVD players as well.
