New Harmony Remote Includes RF

Boot Camp feature for Wednesday, August 12, 2009

How many remotes are under your sofa cushion? I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Chances are ...you've got remote controls under the sofa cushion...cluttered over the coffee table....and who knows where else. That's why Logitech has had success with the Harmony brand of unified remote controllers. The latest model...the Harmony 900...will be out within the next few weeks. Global product manager Ian Crowe says it features the same easy set-up.....a color touch screen that lets you push a button to watch a movie. And the ability to control equipment...that maybe behind a cabinet door...using RF....

"So you don't have to point the remote at the devices. You can hide the devices away inside a closed cabinet so you don't have to see the clutter of the devices, the cables, the blinking lights."

The suggested price is about 400 dollars. You can find other Harmony models, if you don't need the RF capability, for considerably less. You can find us with archives, interviews and this week a giveaway contest for a Seagate FreeAgent Go hard drive....at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
