Co-Pilot Live... Affordable Nav App

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, August 25, 2009

A new affordable navigation app for the iPhone. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Full featured navigation applications are now arriving on the iPhone...and they turn the device into a nav system that is every bit as good as stand alone portable navigation units. But some may be put off by pricing...that can run 70 or 80 dollars or more. ALK Technologies...which has pioneered software for laptops and Windows Mobile devices of years....is now out with Co-Pilot Live for the iPhone ...and it is priced at just 35 dollars. There may be an additional fee down the road for live traffic services. Founder and Princeton University professor Alain Kornhauser...besides getting you where you are going with turn by turn spoken directions...

"It also includes the opportunity to exchange information with your buddies. It allows you to basically rendezvous with people, allow somebody else with an iPhone to know where you are."

And the navigation is designed to work whether you are driving or on foot. You can navigate to us for archives, interviews and more ...at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
