War of Printed Words... HP Vs. Kodak

A war of words on the Web...HP versus Kodak. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Kodak ...in marketing its line of all in one printers....says it can save consumers as much as 110 dollars a year in ink costs. HP has fired back with a Web page it calls the Truth about Printing and has supplied printers to some reporters to prove its point that the savings are significantly less. HP Marketing Manager Jeff Walter....


"In order to come up with a dollar per year savings, they have to assume people print a certain number of pages per week, per month, per year. What Kodak has done is they've taken numbers that are incredibly high."


HP quotes a survey that says the average consumer spends a total of 74 dollars a year on printing. As for the printers....both HP and Kodak models produce very good prints and photos.
