Apple Under Attack Again

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, September 17, 2009

Apple under attack again. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. With a bright screen, the addition of an HD radio, a slick interface, improved PC software, new app capability and a closer tie in with the Xbox 360... Microsoft is hoping its new Zune HD can gain traction in the market. But Apple just keeps rolling along having just added a video camera and FM radio to the iPod Nano...and reduced the price for its low end iPod Touch to under two hundred dollars. About the competitive landscape, VP for iPhone and iPod marketing Greg Joswiak says...

"Apple's in a unique position to bring world class software design together with world class hardware design in a way that allows us to innovate faster than our competitors. And as a result we've been able to maintain very consistently with the iPod business over 70 percent market share. "

Will the new Zune HD be able to make a dent? We'll have more in upcoming reports. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
