Network Storage Made Simple. Netgear's Stora

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, September 24, 2009

Network storage made simple. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Netgear calls it Stora.... a little box with a terabyte of storage...that lets you share data on PCs, Macs, game consoles and even iPhones and Blackberries. Marketing director Drew Meyer says previous network storage devices were designed for geeks. But not the Stora...

"You can share or stream movies and music collections directly from home to any Internet connected device. You could share it with friends and family over the Web with selective user access controls. It even offers a second disk drive bay."

Extended services giving you remote access from mobile phones...costs about twenty dollars a year. The price of the Stora is about 200 dollars. A Linksys Media Hub with a terabyte drive...which also boasts a friendly user interface, sells for about a hundred fifty dollars more. You can find us with archives, interviews and more...at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
