All in One Android Devices From Archos

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, October 8, 2009

An all in one Android device from Archos. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Archos calls it an Internet Media Tablet. A slim device...that looks like a portable GPS unit....that can do seemingly...just about everything...including GPS navigation for an added fee. With an optional docking station...it can serve as a DVR to record TV shows. Browse the Web, check email...or download applications that run on Google's Android operating system. A 16 gigabyte unit sells for about 300 dollars. And they go all they way up to 500 gigs for 500. Who will buy it? Archos CEO Henri Crohas says, as Apple has proven, the apps are the secret...

"We really are a very good equation we think to compete. So we think that we have a good chance to be in this market. It's a huge market."

Android gives Archos a more friendly interface than it's had in previous devices. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
