Looking for a Better Remote

Boot Camp feature for Monday, November 16, 2009

Looking for a better remote. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The problem of remote clutter affects many households. Logitech's Harmony line of remotes has won a lot of fans....for being able to control TVs, stereos, cable boxes, DVD players and more. It does, however, require set up through a computer. The folks at the Acoustic Research brand at Audiovox are out with a line of worthy competitors...the XSight Touch and XSight Color. Marketing VP Ian Geise....

"XSight brings you the best of both worlds. Not only do we have the PC based set up...you can tether the product and be able to do different things like activities. But really the simplicity is in being able to set up your devices on the remote and be able to say I want to add a TV, the brand is Samsung.."

Flexibility is a key advantage. The XSight Touch controls up to 18 devices using IR or RF and is priced at about 250 dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
