End to Charger Clutter? Duracell MyGrid

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, December 15, 2009

An end to charging clutter? I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The folks at Duracell are the latest to enter the charging platform category with a product called myGrid. Plug it in....and place your electronic gadgets on top of it....and they charge. Brand manager Craig Bida...

"We're able to charge up to four devices at once, it's a home charging station effectively, where you plug it in, use one plug and then you're able to charge up to four devices on that one pad in any orientation. Just tap them down there, end of the day, and you're devices will be charged. So great for people with not only with one device, but for families and folks who are going around multiple devices."

What you will need are sleeves or adapters for each device...and the initial availability from Duracell is pretty limited. More so than the competing PowerMat device. But brand manager Craig Bida says the category is just getting started and, for instance, an iPhone sleeve will arrive early next year.
