A Little Android Tablet... From Dell

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, January 19, 2010

A little Android tablet...coming from Dell. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Is it a phone, is it a computer, is it a media player? The answer is all of the above. At this month's Consumer Electronics Show, Dell was showing off a concept tablet. It has a slim five inch screen....running Google's Android operating system....and says marketing manager Anthony Wright...

"While it's an Android operating system, you'll notice we've been innovative with the buttons. We've done different things than what you would traditionally see on an Android operating system that are unique to Dell and really designed to allow users to access their data with fewer swipes and fewer clicks."

Dell is planning to bring the tablet to market this year...but has not talked about how much it will cost. It has also announced that its first Android based smartphone in the U.S....the Mini 3.... will be sold by AT&T by the middle of this year. You can find us with archives, interviews and more...at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
