Portable Hard Drive Becomes Portable PC: Iomega v. Clone

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Iomega makes your PC more portable. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Portable hard drives have been great for expanding the storage in desktop or notebook computers....and for backing up valuable stuff like digital photos or documents. Now Iomega, part of EMC, has announced software that will expand the capability of its line of portable drives. It is called v.Clone. Product manager Eric Ullman...

"And what it allows you to do is make a virtual clone of a primary computer. That could be, say, your computer at home. And you could then make that clone on an Iomega external hard disk which you can take and connect to any other Windows XP, Vista or 7 computer, on which you have admin rights, and then you can run your virtual clone on that machine."

Operating system, applications, you name it. You can find more info at Iomega.com/vclone. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
