Romancing the Phone: Match.com and Mobile

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Romancing the Phone. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Using your computer and sites like Match.com to find that special someone has been common for years now. When you ask a couple how they met...and the answer is...online...the reaction isn't a big surprise anymore. Now Match.com...is moving more and more into mobile...with apps for iPhones and BlackBerries and other devices. CEO Greg Blatt...

"The main thrust of our current Match apps are to give people the ability to experience the Match service from wherever they are. In addition, mobile enables certain things that other computers don't. Geographically based and other features which we have or are exploring. Some of them present certain privacy and other issues which we're wrestling through."

The dilemma is while knowing where the person you may be interested in is located right now...can be a valuable feature...it could also be pretty creepy. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
