Smile. You're on Your Kid's Wrist Camera

Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Smile, you're on your kid's wrist camera. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Jakks Pacific, the company behind the EyeClops toys that do everything from letting kids see in the dark to turning TVs into microscopes....has announced a new line of SpyNet toys. Parents and siblings beware. The toys arriving later this year....include a watch with a little camcorder built in. Marketing director Greg Mitchell...

"It's a wristwatch that kids wear that has a video camera in it and an audio recorder. It has photo capability. It even has software apps loaded inside of it, much as you would get with a BlackBerry or with an iPhone. So with this watch, you can record videos sneakily or even if you just want to record your friend doing a skateboard trick or your dog running around."

The SpyNet video watch will sell for under fifty dollars when it arrives this fall. An audio recording pen is also in the works. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
