Eye-Fi Gets Faster, More Affordable

Boot Camp feature for Monday, April 12, 2010

Eye-Fi gets more affordable. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Eye-Fi, a company that has created a niche with a line of SD memory cards with built in Wi-Fi technology letting cameras send photos directly to computers or online storage sites, is out with a new generation of cards called X2. And the price of the basic 4 gigabyte card is now under fifty dollars. Product marketing director Randhir Vieira....says the new X2 cards include a chip that adds smarter technology...

"And one of the cool features of this new smarter technology is a feature called endless memory. So now you don't have to worry about which photos you've transferred to your computer and which ones are safe to delete from the card. Because Eye-Fi can manage that for you."

The Explore and Pro models add the ability to upload photos from more than 21 thousand hotspots across the U.S. You can find more information at EyeFi.com. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
