Boot Camp feature for Friday, August 13, 2010

Kids, learning and video games. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Video games and learning don't often go hand in hand, but the market for educational games is growing. And that's what a company called Mentor Interactive is focused on, having launched through research grants from the University of Colorado. Executive VP Eric Feiner...

"Our first game was My Virtual Tutor Reading and that was just for Nintendo DS, it was three different SKUs based on the age and grade level. Then our latest release is a series called ThinkSMART. And what these are, are brain type games. So we do that both on DS for kids, for teenagers and older. And we also have a Wii version called ThinkSMART Family."

The games are challenging and fun and ThinkSMART Family includes different levels for individuals...so parents can play with their kids. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
