Boot Camp feature for Thursday, September 2, 2010

New features in cordless phones. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Even with so many people using their mobile phones for just about all of their communication these days...Panasonic continues to innovate with its cordless phones. In fact, some models feature Bluetooth connectivity to let you use a cordless phone system throughout the house to answer and make calls through your mobile line. Beyond that Pansonic is now using what it calls Dect 6.0 Plus to differentiate its cordless phones from the competition. Product specialist Desirae Irby...

"This is something that's unique to Panasonic. Dect 6.0 Plus allows you to have longer range and better sound quality. "

For those who need even more reach...Panasonic now sells a range extender which doubles the distance you can use the phone between the base and the handset. Another new feature on certain models is Choice Mail, which gives the cordless system the type of visual voice mail made popular by the iPhone.
