Digital Multimedia Center for the Family Room. Cirago CMC 3000

Boot Camp feature for Monday, September 6, 2010

A digital multimedia center for the family room. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. The CMC3000 is a little box with some pretty big capabilities from a company called Cirago. It connects to your home network, there is a wireless option... and to your TV via an HDMI port. Company project manager Victoria Pires ...

"So this can play photos, videos as well as music. In terms of music, it plays several different formats. It plays your MP3 files, which is the most popular one. And then for videos, it plays all popular media formats
."

The CMC3000 includes a terabyte of storage and also has connections....for recording movies or TV shows directly from a cable or satellite box....but not in high def. Also missing, is a direct connection to NetFlix. The CMC3000 can also work as a network attached storage device... for files of all kinds. There is plenty of competition out there, but Cirago has built in considerable capability. The price, about 250 dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
