A versatile notebook power supply that saves energy. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. If you use a notebook computer in more than one place...at home and in the office...or simply in another room of the house, adding a second power supply can make portability less of a hassle. And the latest, the iGo Green Laptop Travel Charger, can provide power in a car or plane as well. As for the green technology, Product Development VP Wally Thornton says...
"When you go to bed at night and shut off the computer, the adapter will shut itself automatically. Then when you wake up, boot the computer, the adapter turns itself back on. The consumer never has to do anything other than just let the adapter just do its business and save power and save money along the way."
The Travel Charger sells for about 130 dollars, a model without the vehicle or plane adapters costs thirty dollars less. iGo is also making surge protectors that use the same energy saving technology. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
