SanDisk Fuze+ Offers a Lot for the Money

Boot Camp feature for Friday, September 17, 2010

SanDisk's Fuze+ offers a lot for the money. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. It isn't easy competing with Apple's newly refreshed line up of popular iPods, but SanDisk new Sansa Fuze+ players give consumers an alternative that offers lots of features for less money. It has a capacitive touch pad...a bright 2.4 inch screen....for videos and photos, expandable memory, an audio recorder and a built in FM radio. And pricing for the 8 gigabyte model is under 90 dollars. SanDisk's senior director of audio/video Tom Bailey says the device can handle a wide variety of file formats...

"This is the first player we've ever built that is compatible with the AAC codec which is the codec used with iTunes for DRM free music. And then we've also expanded the video capabilities as well."

The top of the line 16 gig model...is priced at 119 dollars. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
