Newest DSLR From Nikon Arriving This Month

Boot Camp feature for Friday, October 1, 2010

The newest digital SLR from Nikon arrives this month. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. It is called the D7000, Nikon's new digital SLR that is also capable of shooting 1080p HD video. Product manager Lindsay Silverman...

"Well it fits right between the D90, which is a super popular camera and the D300S, which is a higher end prosumer type DSLR. So a very formidable lineup of really photo enthusiast and high end cameras."

The D7000, with a kit lens, will list for about 15 hundred dollars. Nikon has also announced a compact sized camera with full manual controls and an optical viewfinder....

"The photo enthusiasts and prosumers and professionals who are used to the Nikon brand, they want a compact camera but they want to exercise the control they have, this is going to be the right camera for them."

The P7000 can shoot 720p HD video and there's a stereo microphone input for higher quality sound. It will list for about 500 dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
