Added Security for Social Networks for Free From AVG

Boot Camp feature for Monday, October 4, 2010

Added security for social networks. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. AVG Technologies is out with its 2011 computer security product line, which includes both free and subscription software. And CEO J.R. Smith says even with AVG's free Anti-Virus 2011, new features include protection while using social networks...

"What we've tried to do is have the fastest and best protection that we can offer. But we've also focused on social networks and Web. So we've really taken a lot of time to make sure that if you're using AVG, your identity and the URLs that you're posting or getting posted on say your Facebook account or LinkedIn account, etc. are all safe. So we're trying to add that second layer of protection."

There is a free LinkScanner for Mac users as well. You can find more info at AVG.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
