Upcoming Harry Potter Game to Use Xbox 360 Kinect

Boot Camp feature for Monday, October 25, 2010

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One....coming to a game console near you. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Electronic Arts is readying the latest video game incarnation of Harry Potter...coming out next month as the newest movie hits the big screen. And while the game will be released for all of the various consoles, on the Microsoft Xbox 360, there will be some added features for the Kinect hands free control system. Product manager Brendan Docherty says it adds a whole new dimension to casting spells...

"If you put both hands out like in a stop motion...it will cast Protego.. to protect you from harm. So there's about four different spells per level that Harry will cast using the Kinect camera." What about on other platforms? "On other platforms, they'll still have the single player story and they'll have the challenge modes as well. They just won't have the Kinect feature."

And of course, there will be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two game, when that movie comes along. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
