4G Wireless is Reaching the Masses

Boot Camp feature for Monday, November 1, 2010

4G wireless is reaching the masses. I'm Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Sprint is officially launching its 4G wireless service in New York City...with LA, San Francisco, Boston, Pittsburgh, DC, Denver and more coming online by the end of the year. Verizon Wireless has also announced the rollout of its 4G network. But with two 4G handsets already on sale along with other 4G devices, Sprint has been in the lead. What does it mean to consumers? Sprint's Director of 4G Teresa Kellett...

"Customers will find that it's much faster and economical with our unlimited 4G plans to use to browse the Web, to view videos, do the things that they're used to doing on the Internet at home or in the office. But when they're out and about around the city."

Sprint charges an extra ten dollars for accessing data from handsets on the 4G network. You can find more info at Sprint.com/4G. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I'm Fred Fishkin.
