Let your iPhone or iPad help you cook that perfect steak: iGrill

Boot Camp feature for Monday, May 16, 2011

Let your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch help you grill that perfect steak.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   It’s one of those great gifts for geeks.   iDevices is out with the iGrill…a wireless cooking thermometer that connects via Bluetooth to an iOS device running the iGrill app.   CEO Chris Allen…

“Once the device connects with your phone, you open up our app, and our app will monitor the meat for you.   You can set different alarms, you can see different views and kind of watch the meat as the temperature rises.  And when it reaches your goal temperature, it’ll go ahead and send a tone to both the device next to your oven and/or the iPhone as well.”

The iGrill has an Apple-esque design and is definitely cool.  Except, of course, when you’re using it. The price, about a hundred dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.  I’m Fred Fishkin.
