Cool tablets for the hot summer. Samsung & Lenovo.

Boot Camp feature for Friday, August 12, 2011

Cool tablets for the hot summer.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Verizon Wireless is out with a 4G version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the thinnest Android tablet on the market… even slimmer, in fact than the iPad 2.   The addition of 4G LTE service makes a great tablet even better.    Even the speakers when listening to music are impressive.   Pricing, with a two year contract, starts at about 530 dollars.   The cheapest data plan runs 30 dollars a month.   Also new, Lenovo’s IdeaPad K-1.   Global Director of Mobile Product Marketing Ninis Samuel…

“It’s really meant for consumer home use.  It’s optimized for media entertainment.  It’s actually the first Android tablet certified for Netflix.”

The design is not as sleek as the Galaxy Tab 10.1.   The price, about 500 dollars.   Lenovo is also coming out with a ThinkPad tablet designed for business users.     You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
