Boot Camp feature for Tuesday, September 20, 2011

An Android entertainment system designed for the car.    I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      Parrot, a company probably best known for making Bluetooth headsets and such, is coming out with an after-market car entertainment system called Asteroid.  You can listen to the radio with it, of course, but there are lots of other options too.   It has a 3.2 inch color screen that can be used with maps and navigation  Parrot sales and marketing VP Peter George..

A second driving assistance app is a little app called Weather.  It works like most other weather applications where it will give you real time weather in your location.  So the last area of applications that will come in this product at launch is an app called Text Friendly.  And what Text Friendly enables you to do is to send and receive emails and text messages simply by using your voice.”

The online connection is made through a mobile phone or  mobile data USB device. The price, about 350 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
