The latest tech toys for kids. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. While apps and add-ons for iPads are a hot new toy category, some parents may prefer to have kids playing with tablets that are designed to take more of a beating. For instance…
“You’re looking at the InnoTab, which is a learning app tablet for kids ages four to nine. Basically what VTech is doing and continuing to do is bring adult technology to children.”
VTech spokesman Brian Camen. The InnoTab sells for about 80 dollars. At Hasbro, Chief Marketing Officer John Frascotti says in the latest FurReal Friend, a dog named Cookie….
“It actually recognizes a child’s hand when a child comes near the puppy’s head. So you put your hand here and the puppy’s head comes toward your hand. And then it also has voice recognition.”
Cookie sells for under sixty dollars and there’s no mess to clean up. The idea, says Frascotti, is to make the technology invisible to children and just make it fun. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
