A DVR for online content. PlayLater.

Boot Camp feature for Friday, October 28, 2011

A DVR for online content.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    The folks who created PlayOn, designed to let you share Internet content like Hulu or Netflix in the family room, have now created PlayLater.    CEO Jeff Lawrence….

It’s a PC application that you download to your computer that lets you browse and search for online video amongst a whole bunch of different video Web sites.  And then you can pick the video that you like and send it to your recording  cue so that you can record it to your computer’s hard drive and then watch it later even if you’re not online.”

The videos will only play back on the PC that recorded them but can be then streamed to other devices using the company’s PlayOn software.   So you can watch on iPhones, iPads and Android devices.  There’s a fourteen day free trial and then it costs five dollars a month or fifty dollars a year.   There’s more info at PlayLater.TV.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
