Is Nikon 1 for you? Compact interchangeable lens camera.

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, November 10, 2011

Nikon’s new compact interchangeable lens cameras.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.      With Olympus, Panasonic, Sony , Samsung and Pentax all out there with small interchangeable lens cameras,  it was only a matter of time before Nikon arrived on the scene.   Nikon opted to use a smaller sensor than is found in most of its dSLR cameras.   Senior technical manager Steve Heiner…

One of the primary sort of design functions of this camera of course is a very minimalist approach to the interface on the camera.  We wanted it to be very simple for a customer who isn’t necessarily a dSLR photographer.  They aren’t necessarily a compact camera shooter.  There’s a lot of people out there who are very creative looking for a way to express themselves.  And so we built in features like motion snapshot.”

Which records video in the background while you’re taking a still photo.    Pricing starts at about 650 dollars.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
