Nintendo's not so secret weapons: Zelda & Mario

Boot Camp feature for Friday, November 25, 2011

Zelda and Mario are Nintendo’s not so secret weapons this holiday season.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.    Nintendo fans will have to wait until next year for the next generation game console dubbed the WiiU.  For this holiday season, the focus is on games.   Executive VP Scott Moffitt says number one is The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword…

“It’s already getting rave reviews, perfect ten scores, on both sides of the Atlantic.”

And with its reduced price, the 3DS handheld game machine, is gaining popularity fast.  There too, the focus is on the latest games…

Super Mario 3D Land as well as Mario Cart 7.  And recently released Pokemon Rumble Blast, the first Pokemon game available for the 3DS.”

The Nintendo handheld game machines do have more competition these days from all of the smartphones.  But while they do play games, they are typically not as full featured as the ones on Nintendo.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
