A weather buff on your shopping list? The latest gadgets from Davis Instruments. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. This time…cloud technology has nothing to do with Google or Amazon or Microsoft. Davis Instruments has created weather gadgetry designed for home hobbyists. The Vantage Vue weather station, which sells for about four hundred dollars, includes an outdoor weather instrumentation unit that takes a variety of measurements and transmits them wirelessly to a receiver station inside. VP Russ Heilig says that unit can then be plugged into a computer to share the data…
“ We now have over seven thousand individuals who have put a station outside, connected it to their network and pushed data to us. So if you go to weatherlink.com, you will see a map of the world and it includes over seven thousand single points of data.”
Again, it’s free to check out at Weatherlink.com. You can find us, no matter what the weather, at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
