Voice guided navigation coming to a Web site near you

Boot Camp feature for Friday, January 13, 2012

Voice guided navigation coming to a Web site near you.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   TeleNav has been providing navigation services to phone users through carriers for years.   Now the company is forming partnerships with Web sites to allow them to embed what is called browser based HTML 5 navigation.   What will that mean to consumers?   Marketing director Laura Della Torre….

“What it means is that customers who are using various mobile apps can navigate with premium navigation to any address or point of interest in their favorite applications and mobile devices.  Let’s say for instance that somebody is in an application and they come across an address, with one click, what that will do is launch a new browser window and then based on their current  location will build a route to there.”

TeleNav is making the technology free to consumers and developers.   You can navigate to us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
