Nikon's next super camera: the D4

Boot Camp feature for Thursday, January 26, 2012

Nikon’s next super camera.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.   Nikon’s well earned reputation for leadership in the camera world seems safe for the time being with the announcement of its new flagship digital SLR camera, the D4.   Senior Product Manager Lindsay Silverman…

“It’s a camera that’s got two hearts.   And heart number one is all about still photography.  So the first thing is a brand new Nikon designed 16.2 megapixel full frame FX format sensor.  Around that is a brand new 91 thousand RGB pixel light metering system in the camera that’s the gateway to subject tracking, auto-focus and a myriad of other features and technologies.”

The other heart of the camera is in its remarkable videography capabilities.   The D4 is slated to arrive in about a month’s time for about, hold on,  six thousand dollars.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
