Making online images interactive. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Web sites are full of pictures. Sometimes those images may link to more information or other sites, but a start-up called Luminate aims to make them interactive. How? CEO Bob Lisbonne…
“Today, when we see images on Web sites, on most sites you can just look at those pictures. But Luminate’s technology adds to those pictures what we call image apps. They’re relevant information or functionality, so that, for example, you can learn more about who is in the picture, you can browse the products that you can see in the picture, you can access movie trailers. So instead of just looking at the picture, you are just one mouse over away from accessing relevant content.”
The possibilities seem endless. You can check out some examples at Luminate.com. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
