The ABCs of apps for toddlers

Boot Camp feature for Friday, March 16, 2012

The ABCs of apps for toddlers.   I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear.     Here’s an excuse to buy one of the new iPads,  your toddler can make great use of the old one.   Perhaps you’ve seen it already, the way little ones instinctively seem to know how to use iPads or iPhones.    If you haven’t been convinced yet, just try an app called Wee Sing & Learn ABC, published by zuuka.   Wee Sing has been around for three decades….and it translates beautifully onto digital screens.  Zuuka founder Woody Sears…

“We’ve also added some things that you wouldn’t find in the paper version.  Being able to go and listen to the ABC song, explore the animals, each one of them in more depth and actually play along with the ABCs.  It’s almost like an alphabet instrument.”

Zuuka has been a leader in apps for little ones.  Wee Sing is in the app store for 3.99.   You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
